How do I know if I may need an attorney?
If you needed expert medical attention, you likely need expert legal representation. If you have been injured, then an
experienced attorney should always be consulted as soon as possible, and certainly before you give any statements or
sign any papers of any kind. If you have been seriously injured, you will benefit by hiring an attorney.

What can I do to help my attorney win my personal injury case?
Cases are won based on the strength of the evidence. Here are some things you can do to help your case to be as
strong as possible:
*Get the names, addresses and phone numbers of any witnesses.
*Go to a doctor or hospital if you are injured. Oftentimes, symptoms won't even begin to be felt until days after the
incident, when the injured person will wake up stiff and sore, or start experiencing headaches. Do not ignore these
symptoms.
*Make a detailed personal record about the incident as soon as possible, while it is still fresh in your mind.
*Take pictures of any visible injuries as soon as possible, and throughout the healing process.
*Follow your doctor's instructions to heal properly.

If you were involved in a car crash, and if you drive for an employer, your employer may have procedures that you
should follow. If you are self-employed, your insurance policy may set out instructions. You need to follow those
instructions, or your claim for coverage may be denied. The following additional things would also be very helpful:
" Get the other driver's name, address, date of birth, driver's license number, telephone number, insurance company
name and policy number.
" Get the name and badge number of the reporting police officer, and get the police report number.
" Take several pictures (from different angles) of the damage to the vehicle before it is repaired.

Should I give the insurance adjuster a recorded statement on the telephone?
NO. No matter how nice the adjuster seems, remember that they are NOT on your side. They will look for any tiny
thing in your statement to make you seem like a liar, and attempt to twist what you say to their advantage. Meanwhile,
anything you say that is advantageous to your side of the story will be ignored or de-emphasized. Giving them a
statement can only hurt your case.

How much is your fee?
I work on a contingency fee for personal injury cases. My fees for traffic matters vary, depending on the type of traffic
issue. Fees for simple traffic matters start as low as $50.00.

What is a contingency fee?
Most personal injury attorneys work on what is called a "contingency fee" arrangement. This means that you do not pay
us up front for our services. Instead, we keep a percentage of the total amount of the settlement, after we win your case.
If we don't win your case, we don't get paid.
This arrangement allows people to hire an attorney to represent them, even when they could not otherwise afford to hire
an attorney. The insurance industry is composed of vastly powerful, multi-billion dollar corporations that have armies of
attorneys on their side. Without contingency fees, injured people could not hope to fight them.

What financial compensation am I entitled to in a personal injury claim?
Injury victims are entitled to recover money for all losses and expenses they incur as a result of the negligence of the
responsible party or parties. Many factors determine the amount, including:
*The severity of the injury
*The amount of the medical bills
*The amount of time and money lost from work
*Future lost wages
*Duties performed under duress
*Loss of Enjoyment of Life
*Pain & Suffering
*Physical Disability
*Disfigurement and Permanent Scars
*Mental Disability
*Property Damage
*Many out-of-pocket and other expenses

What if the injury is partly my fault, do I still have a claim?
Yes. Even if your injury was partially your own fault, you still have a claim. Lawyers and judges use the term
"Comparative Fault" to describe this situation. In Missouri, the fault of all parties is compared, and the amount that you
recover is reduced by the percentage of your own fault. In this way, each person is held accountable only for the
percentage of their respective fault for the injury. But even if you are mostly at fault for an injury or accident, you still
have a claim.

How long do I have to make a claim?
Every state has certain time limits for certain types of claims. These "statutes of limitations" require you to file suit within a
specific period of time, depending upon the circumstances of your case, or else you will be prohibited from obtaining any
compensation for your injuries. It is always better to act sooner, so that your claim and your chance at recovery do not
expire.

If I have a personal injury claim do I have to go to court?
No. Most personal injury cases are settled out of court by the insurance companies and their attorneys. But if a case
does go to trial, you most likely will have to come to court so that your testimony can be heard.

What should I do if I get a traffic ticket?
Do not pay a ticket without consulting an attorney. One speeding ticket on your driving record can cost you thousands
of dollars in increased insurance premiums over the next few years. Call my office as soon as possible at 314-832-7800
to discuss your ticket for free. If it is more convenient, you can email me at St.LouisAttorney@sbcglobal.net.

I've already paid the ticket, and the points are already on my driving record. Can you still help me?
Yes. I could still remove the ticket from your driving record, effectively erasing the points from your record. It's not too
late to contact my office to discuss your situation.

Can I contact you to discuss my case?
Absolutely. There is no fee for discussing your case or for initial consultation. Feel free to call or otherwise contact my
office to discuss your case directly with me.
